Chapman and Edwards Lakes, Oct. 10, 2022 Donna on October 17, 2022 Chapman Lake: Floats holding the siphons in place. That’s me, hiking over towards the dam. The weather was fair, but there was a very cold wind, reminding us that it really is fall. Channel with the dam in the background, siphons to the left. There’s a whole lot of lake shore, much of which may never have been exposed before. Crossing Chapman Creek downstream of the dam, where you can see the water we’re siphoning in. That water has another 15 or so kilometres to travel before reaching the intake to our water treatment plant above Selma Park. Hiking through the parched landscape, you can actually smell the difference the moisture makes when you near the creek.
